"A Quiet Escape: Discovering the Serenity of Namae-ri Beach"

Namae-ri Beach: A Serene Ocean Escape in Yangyang

Namae-ri Beach shines especially bright on sunny days. Not long ago, on a clear and calm afternoon, I visited this hidden gem with my sister. Located in Hyeonnam-myeon, Yangyang County in Gangwon Province, Namae-ri is a peaceful seaside village not far from Jumunjin—making it a perfect spot for a scenic drive.

While Yangyang is well-known for surfing, many people don’t realize that Namae-ri also offers beautiful waves and stunning views. It’s a quiet, lesser-known beach that’s ideal for surfing without the crowds.

The beach wasn’t crowded at all, making it perfect for families, couples, or friends to enjoy the sea in a relaxed atmosphere.

The weather was so pleasant that day—just walking along the shore and listening to the waves felt incredibly healing. Nearby, you’ll also find a few small surf shops and places to grab a snack, making it a convenient stop on your journey.

My sister and I took a slow walk, dipped our feet in the water, and savored the moment. Namae-ri may not be flashy, but it holds a quiet, untouched beauty that feels deeply comforting. If you’re planning to visit Yangyang or Jumunjin, I highly recommend this tranquil spot over the more crowded tourist beaches.
